Jump for Joy in July!
Offerings from
Karusia Nirmala

Beloved Reader!

This month's newsletter includes my regular schedule, plus a new weekly restorative yoga class, and a special workshop... all to delight you, and to share tips and technologies with you about how to build and nourish your inner resources. I am also available for private lessons, healing sessions and Tarot readings.

I've been thinking a lot about something that strikes me in my own personal life, and comes up in my practice as a Yoga Therapist. It can be very challenging to make positive changes in our lives, and to let go of the things that no longer serve our highest good. When heavy thoughts, emotions, habits and physical pain have been ingrained for years or decades, we tend to define ourselves by them. That's what we know. It can be hard to imagine any other life, especially one of freedom and lightness. It can be hard to remember that there could be something inside us that remains eternally free and untouched by the ups and downs of human living.

In QiGong, there is a saying: "Yi Dao, Qi Dao". It means this: "Where the mind goes, energy follows". Whatever we feed with our thoughts and our attention becomes larger. If we focus on our suffering, it gets bigger and it gets stronger.

In healing, it is said that if joy and light multiply enough, they can eventually displace any heaviness that we feel. Let's feed what makes us shine, and see what happens if we let go.... and keep on practising letting go... The more we practise something, the better we get at it. Why not give it a try!

Below, I share a "medicine poem" to inspire you on this noble journey. Sometimes art can heal more effectively than intellect can. I offer this with respect and love, with the heartfelt desire that all of our souls may grow wings.

Sending Blessings and Radiant Love to You. May we be free, and may we inspire others by our example!

Karusia Nirmala

It’s time to let go of the ways that tether you to a past that limits your magnificence.

Clinging to the past is cramping your style!

The river of time has continued her flowing journey, will you join her?

Delights beyond your imagining await you!

It is time for the releasing...the unburdening.

It is time to clear away that which binds you,

And to allow that which liberates you
and lets you be exquisitely light and mobile.

This new life longs to fill every cell of your physical and spiritual being
with radiance and wholeness.

Will you let her take your hand and lead you into the dance?

In Chinese medicine, all emotions are considered to be healthy as long as they are acknowledged and are allowed to flow. If we resist or bury them, our energy stagnates and problems can arise on the physical and psychological planes.

Our magnificent organs give us structural support, and they carry consciousness. Unfortunately, we tend to take them for granted because they work behind the scenes. Luckily, there are techniques to connect us to health and clarity! Our afternoon will include:

~ tapping, cupping and self massage to get things flowing,
~ healing sounds to clear and replenish your organs,
~ learning about the Inner Smile,
~ finding out how to work with the emotions connected with each organ,

~ simple qigong movements and yoga stretches to get your energy flowing smoothly, and
~ lymphatic breathing for enhanced circulation.

Guaranteed! You will leave feeling light, clear, balanced and refreshed.

Light refreshments are included.

What do I offer?
I teach people how to move, think and breathe in new ways that free them to be the best they can be. For this, I draw on a lifetime of exploration in dance, anatomy, prayer, yoga and qigong. I bring the sensibility of the artist and mystic to healing. My services include:

Traditional hatha yoga. Ancient teachings for modern times. Blending movement, breath, concentration and meditation to build strength, symmetry, flexibility and equipoise. All levels.

Women's QiGong. The cultivation of universal healing energy in order to skilfully clear the way for vibrant health, inside and out. Based on Daisy Lee's Radiant Lotus Women's QiGong, a form designed to empower, connect and delight women everywhere.

Yoga Nidra. An extended relaxation accompanied by guided imagery that is guaranteed to rest your physical body and release mental tensions.

Restorative Yoga. Warm up with joint-freeing exercises and chair yoga, and then luxuriate in an unhurried series of supported yoga postures that stretch and relax without exertion. Excellent for stress and/or pain management and recuperation.

Tarot Readings. Tarot cards use symbol and imagery to help you see things in new ways, and empower you to move forward with clarity. They hold a compassionate mirror up to your soul, and activate your intuition.

Classes are small, which allows me to customize for your needs. My training as a yoga therapist gives me many tools to help you balance your biomechanics, your nerves, your hormones and your emotions while having fun and learning new skills that will boost your vitality and well-being. My background as an artist helps you to find beauty, harmony and magic on your path. ~

I also offer the following services by appointment. Home visits are available.

Tarot and Oracle Card Readings (Consider hiring me to read for your birthday party or bachelorette!)

Tarot: The Sun

The Sun feeds our life source; it nourishes and heals our souls and bodies. It rises every day, bringing new light and fresh opportunities.

CS Lewis writes: "Getting over a painful experience is much like crossing monkey bars. You have to let go at some point in order to move forward."

Can you allow the Sun's energy into you to power your leap into a new way of being? Let the Light in, it is your beloved friend.
