I trust that you have been able to navigate this holiday season with grace and suppleness! It's been a busy time of food (too much!) and socializing for me, and now I am happy to settle into a few quieter days to regroup.
I am "inviting" another guest writer this month. This time it is soul whisperer Alana Fairchild, and I am quoting a passage from her "Wild Kuan Yin Oracle" Guidebook. (The oracle deck is stunning as well as wise, and you can take a look here.)
One of my favourite cards from this deck is called "Tender Trust, Beloved Body." The feeling tone of the card is very like that of Lucy Campbell's image above... it tells of the mutual love and respect of body and soul, as symbolized by the tenderness shared by animal and young woman. As you may know, I am a big believer in the eloquence of our bodies and the stories, mysteries and wisdom that are written in every cell of our being. I hope you enjoy it!
"Be present to recognize and receive the gifts and opportunities that are rightfully yours. Take time to be open and connected to your physical body and the physical reality you can experience through being connected to your body. Look around you. Feel what is happening within you and around you too. Notice what is being offered to you and if it feels right, say yes. Receive. It may seem challenging at first- perhaps even scary- to be so present, so open to life and its entirety. You may not be certain that you will always take pleasure in what comes your way. Some experiences may be difficult, even as you know that they are ultimately leading you into greater happiness. Trust that your body knows how to process pleasure and even that which is not so pleasurable, and will do so naturally when allowed to remain open and connected to life. This openness keeps your body empowered to not only digest, but complete the cycle of processing and experience. It does this by generating a natural source of energy, not unlike food being converted into energy. You can then use that energy in an intentional and empowered way- to express, to create, to manifest.........
..........Your body is like a holy instrument through which the sacred breath can flow and create sound. It is the vehicle through which the inspiration can become a manifest reality."
I wish you a truly Happy New Year! May 2019 bring inspiration, embodiment and manifestation to each and every one of us.
I truly hope that you may be able to join me for a class or healing workshop. It is always lovely to see you.
In Love and Light, and with a multitude of Blessings.

Epiphany Kirtan Gathering: Bringing in the Light
Saturday January 5, 4-6pm. By donation.
In the Amenity Room @ 21 Nassau St.
Epiphany marks day that the Magi bestowed their gifts on the Christ Child, twelve days after his humble birth. This holy day completes the arc of Christmastide, and symbolizes a new reign of Light, Peace and Harmony for all beings.
You are invited to share in an informal gathering of chanting, light movement, readings and silence to welcome this en-light-enment wholeheartedly into our lives. Our time together will include some gentle sun salutations, and 54 chanted rounds of the Gayatri Mantra (a hymn to Light in the Yogic tradition).
The format is "house kirtan style", i.e. anyone can lead a chant, or share a reflection or reading on our theme. Bring an instrument if you wish, or use the harmonium on hand.
Light refreshments will be available. Donations of flowers, tea lights or sweets are most welcome.
