My name is Karusia Nirmala Wroblewski, and I am a certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT) and Living Somatics Movement Teacher (LSMT), as well as a registered Yoga Educator (E-RYT-500). I hold an Honours BFA in Modern Dance from York University. I am Toronto born and bred.
Yoga has been part of my life for almost 60 years. I began with asana practice when I was young, and was introduced to the inner practices of Yoga (pranayama, meditation and philosophy) through my guru Baba Hari Dass in 1998. Since then, Yoga has continued to teach and shape me.
Over the last 21 years, I have written and delivered curriculum in countless Yoga Teacher Trainings (YTT’s) in Experiential Anatomy, Yoga Philosophy and Psychology, and introduction to Yoga Therapy.
I am a lifelong learner, and am always looking for studies that will complement and add to my skills, so that I can help others more effectively. These include Radiant Lotus Women’s QiGong (certified by Daisy Lee) and Reiki 1 and 2 (with William Gekas). I am also an avid Tarot reader. You may be surprised at how aligned the Tarot is with Yoga Psychology and inner transformation.
I have recently completed certification in Living Somatics, which is based on the discoveries of Thomas Hanna (February, 2022). Through slow and mindful movement, that is focussed on ease and comfort, it is possible to release chronic stress patterns and to re-educate our nervous systems. I think of this work as “Western Yoga”, and it is elegantly aligned with everything else I offer.
My field of specialty is the breath. Breath is the bridge between our minds and our bodies; it invites nourishment and peace into all the cells of our being. Through it, we can regulate our nervous systems, customizing practices that energize, calm, or harmonize. Breath practices prepare the mind for meditation, and it is a natural tool for pain management. Understanding how it works, can lend grace and efficiency to everything we do.
My Mission Statement
I support people to move, think and breathe in fresh ways that free them to be the best they can be. For this, I draw on a lifetime of exploration in Dance, Experiential Anatomy, Prayer, Healing, Yoga, QiGong and Somatics.
My training as a Yoga Therapist supplies essential tools to help you balance your biomechanics, your nerves, your hormones, your thoughts and your emotions while learning new skills to boost your vitality and well-being. My background as an artist and seeker supports you to find beauty, harmony, meaning and joy on your healing journey.
